What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Who we share your data with

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

How we protect your data

We protect customer data with the following site features:

  • We are entirely using SSL/HTTPS throughout all our sites / servers / services. This encrypts our user communications with the servers so personal identifiable information is never captured by third parties without authorization.
  • Databases are sanitized (actual user personal details are removed) before deploying to development or testing environment.

We will not process personal data for a longer period than is necessary for fulfilling the purpose of any processing. Your personal data will be anonymized or deleted once it is no longer relevant for the purposes for which it was collected. We only retain your personal data to ensure compliance with our legal and regulatory requirements

If we keep your data for other purposes than those of the performance of a contract, such as anti-money laundering purposes, bookkeeping and regulatory capital adequacy requirements, we keep the data only if necessary and/or mandated by laws and regulations for the respective purpose.

The data retention obligations will differ within the TAAPI.IO subject to applicable local laws.

See below for examples of the retention periods that we apply:

  • Preventing, detecting and investigating money laundering, terrorist financing and fraud: minimum five (5) years after termination of the business connection
  • Bookkeeping regulations: five (5) years
  • Details on performance of an agreement: up to ten (10) years after end of customer relationship to defend against possible claims

The above is only for explanatory purposes and the retention times may differ from country to country.

What data breach procedures we have in place

In case of a data breach, System administrators will immediately go through affected users and will attempt to reset passwords if needed after informing the user.

What third parties we receive data from

We receive only price action information in the form of candle sticks from third party exchanges, and well as price action data in the form of candle sticks from users who are submitting these data them-selves. Either manually or through our client software voluntarily installed by our users.

What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data

We do not currently profile any data what-so-ever. If ever future relevant, users will be notified of this with proper documentation of this profiling, and will need to actively give their consent for TAAPI.IO to process data in any way.
